Birth Of The Beatles - director Richard Marquand graduated from BBC documentaries to dramatized features with 1979's Birth of the Beatles. (A+) 99:22 - 1 DVD
This chronicle of the Fab Four begins when the group consisted of five musicians: John Lennon (Stephen MacKenna), Paul McCartney (Rod Culbertson), George Harrison (John Altman), Stu Sutcliffe (David Wilkinson), and Pete Best (Ryan Michael). The group begins its career in the dregs of a Hamburg, Germany nightclub (most of the film was made on location). Under the tutelage of manager Brian Epstein (Brian Jameson), the group sheds its rough-hewn image in favor of choirboy haircuts and Eton collars; along the way, Sutcliffe dies and drummer Best is replaced by Richard Starkey, (aka Ringo Starr, played here by Ray Ashcroft). First aired in the U.S. on November 23, 1979, Birth of the Beatles is significant as the only Beatle biopic made while John Lennon was still alive.

Different Worlds: Hippies & Cults In America - The flower children of the sixties turned away from traditional American values, 1 DVD
searching for truth and fulfillment through a new world of peace and love, drugs and communal living. But the idyllic period of Woodstock and Haight- Ashbury did not last, and many former hippies found themselves attracted to fringe religious groups and counter-culture movements. In the last thirty years these cults have grown at an astonishing rate, and they have taken many different forms. This is a penetrating look at the link between the "summer of love" generation and the rise of cults in America. Interviews with cult members provide an inside look at life in these groups, while reporters and government officials examine some of the famous cases where cult members have followed their leaders to their deaths, from Jim Jones to the Branch Davidians.

Disco Beaver From Outer Space - HBO made for T.V. National Lampoons mockery of everything that is wrong with cable TV. 1 DVD
This is probably the best parody that National Lampoon has ever done. For anyone who remembers the 70's it is a real blast from the past on the attitudes and stupidity of that time, with some seedy comedy that is funnier than anything going on today. A collection of completely disconnected sketches that are portrayed as if the viewer is channel surfing, this is the perfect movie for group of immature high school kids or a group or immature older people to pop in the VCR and laught at the end, remember the 70's.

Keep Off the Grass (1970 short) - Watched this during Health Class back in 1971 . 1 DVD
Tom's mother discovers a marijuana joint in his room. When his parents confront him, Tom denies being a "dope fiend." Despite his dad's admonitions about the dangers of pot, one of which is "an uncontrollable feeling of hilarity," Tom still doesn't buy it, and decides to find out for himself what pot's effects are. He goes down to where the local "weedheads" hang out, and is disgusted by their sloppiness and their laziness. A couple of friendly policemen tell Tom that the reason the weedheads are like that is that pot use results in a "wholesale abandonment of goals and ambitions." While digesting this terrifying prospect, Tom is mugged by a desperate band of marijuana addicts, and finally realizes how right his parents were to try to get him to "keep off the grass!"

STAR WARS HOLIDAY SPECIAL 2 Sources one with Commercials and one without commercials (DVD SET) + BOBA FETT CHRISTMAS - 2 DVD's
The Star Wars Holiday Special is a 2-hour long television special that aired on November 17, 1978. It starred all of the original cast of Star Wars except for Alec Guinness. The Star Wars Holiday Special is a 1978 American two-hour television
special (including commercials) set in the Star Wars galaxy and was the first official Star Wars spinoff produced. Directed by Steve Binder, it was broadcast in its entirety in the United States only once, on Friday, November 17, 1978. In the
story, Chewbacca and Han Solo visit Kashyyyk, Chewbacca's home world, to celebrate Life Day. Along the way, they are pursued by agents of the Galactic Empire, who are searching for rebels on the planet. The special introduces three members of
Chewbacca's family: his father Attichitcuk, his wife Mallatobuck, and his son Lumpawarrump.
The main storyline of the film, which occurs two years after the Battle of Yavin (2 ABY), takes place on Kashyyyk. During the film, scenes also take place in outer space and in spacecraft including the Millennium Falcon and an Imperial Star
Destroyer. The variety-show segments and cartoon introduce a few other locales, such as a cantina on the desert planet of Tatooine and a gooey, reddish ocean planet known as Panna.
The program also features brief appearances by other Star Wars characters, including Luke Skywalker, C-3PO, R2-D2, Darth Vader, Han Solo and Princess Leia Organa (who sings the film's "theme song", set to the music of John Williams's Star Wars theme, near the end). The program also features a cartoon that officially introduces the bounty hunter Boba Fett.

A favorite on USA's now cancelled Up All Night and a very obscure title to find. The film is a horror updating on the classic teen comedy Weird Science. It makes very little sense, but I'll try to explain it for you....
The film is about two feuding brothers living together in an isolated mansion. One of them is a computer geek and the other is a stud. The stud seems to be in bed with his girlfriend all the time. However, one day the brother that is a computer geek finally is able to create his dream woman on a computer, but things get out of control and the computer generated woman turns into a demon who kills everyone in sight.

This film is set in an post-apocalyptic wasteland where few fertile men and women exist due to atomic fallout and, as a result, the government places a high priority on those that can still breed. Shortly before the movie opens, a group of mutant amphibians (who have been exiled to the desert by the humans who still look normal) have captured a group of fertile women and are using them as sex slaves. Sam Hell (Piper) is recruited by the government to go recapture the women, then reproduce with them and save the human race. To make sure that the strong headed Hell follows the order of his commander, he is forced to wear a protective codpiece that will explode if he disobeys an order or tries to abort his mission.
